Oil on paper, a study of sorts, made at the same time as the larger works on canvas. As in the works on canvas, layers of paint are added, then sanded or scraped away and new layers built on top. The title is a jazz reference to Miles Davis, a source of inspiration for improvisation in the studio. Pictured with its sister painting, Misty.
