Night Garden is a series of one-of-a-kind woodcut monoprints made from the flowers and trees of my surrounding gardens — observed through all seasons, rendered in the graphic language of the woodcut. Each print is built from multiple plates in two or three colors, so no two are alike. The imagery moves between representation and abstraction: a bloom becomes a shape, a branch becomes a line, the garden becomes something closer to a feeling than a record.
