This horizontal abstraction is a gestural mix of greens and warmer colors inspired directly from the natural world surrounding my home studio. A recent move to the countryside has brought a change to my work. I have always been inspired by landscapes and seascapes, mostly from my travels. Now I am looking out the window of my studio and see wildlife and birds along with the dramatic changing of seasons here in New England. Tall pines and deep, forest fauna provide a million shades of green to work from. The gestural energy of the painting is a direct response to this ever-changing environment.
